our mornings

We are very busy at South Wales Preschool. Science discovery, circle time, arts and crafts, beginning Spanish instruction, cooking, singing, dancing, yoga, show-and-tell, and stories are all enjoyed during our mornings. Parents are asked to provide a nutritional snack on a rotating basis and the child who brings snack is  “leader” on that day. We often host visitors like dentists, veterinarians, firefighters, and educators with traveling aquariums. Several field trips are planned throughout the year.  We encourage parents and other family members to participate in field trips and holiday parties, and to visit our preschool at any time.
Small class size is important to us because it allows quality student/teacher time. Children feel more at ease, confident, and eager to learn and build friendships. We are able to challenge each child to reach his or her potential at an individual pace. We focus on helping the children develop socialization skills as well as visual, auditory, and small and large motor proficiency. The curriculum includes recognition of numbers and letters and identification of shapes and colors. In creative and non-threatening ways, we introduce kindergarten readiness skills. The children learn beginning writing, particularly their names and alphabet letters, and basic math. Discovering about animals, the environment, people of different countries and cultures, and people with special needs are just a few of the diverse examples from our theme-based arts and activities. Our preschoolers are continually learning while having fun!

Our school follows the Holland, NY School District with regards to holidays and weather-related closings.
